meeting to be held on November 26, 2015, commencing at 3:00 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

History of Facilities Accessibility Design Standards (FADS)

 

That it BE NOTED that a presentation from J. DeVito, Manager, Facilities Design and Construction, with respect to the history of the Facilities Accessibility Design Standards (FADS), was received.

 

3.

AODA Input Session - Trails in Parks

 

That it BE NOTED that the delegation from J. Michaud, Parks Project Coordinator and A. Macpherson, Manager, Environmental Parks Planning, with respect to the Trails in Parks AODA input session, was not available at this meeting.

SUB-COMMITTEES & WORKING GROUPS

 

4.

Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee (BEFSC) Report from its meeting held on November 4, 2015:

 

a)           the Civic Administration BE REQUESTED to provide the BEFSC the Municipal Policy with respect to the working mechanics of pedestrian crosswalk signals, such as the timing protocol of the various signals relative to walking speeds;

 

b)       the matter of the "Accessibility Regulation Summary" proposed for inclusion on the Accessibility Advisory Committee webpage on the City website BE DEFERRED to the January meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee (ACCAC); and,

c)       it BE NOTED that the BEFSC minutes from its meeting held on November 4, 2015, were received.

6th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 6th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee from its meeting held on October 22, 2015, was received.

 

6.

Accessibility Advisory Committee - Resignation

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication dated October 22, 2015, from S. Abray, with respect to her resignation from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, was received.

 

7.

International Name Plate Supplies Limited - FADS

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication, dated October 22, 2015, from T. Wellhauser, Division Manager, Facilities, with respect to the adoption of the Facilities Accessibility Design Standards (FADS) by International Name Plate Supplies Limited, was received.

 

8.

David C. Onley Award for Leadership in Accessibility

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication dated October 14, 2015, from B. Duguid, Minister, Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, with respect to the 2016 David C. Onley Award for Leadership in Accessibility, was received.

 

9.

Human Resource Staff - ACCAC

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication dated November 10, 2015, from G. Bridge, Manager, Human Resources and Corporate Services, with respect to his position as the lead staff responsible for the AODA portfolio, was received.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

10.

Partnership for Accessible Employment Pilot Initiative Consultation Session - Update

 

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal update from L. Firby and A. Forrest, with respect to the Partnership for Accessible Employment Pilot Initiative Consultation Session, was received.

 

11.

Community Conversation with the Mayor's Advisory Panel on Poverty

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal report from A. Forrest, with respect to her attendance at the Community Conversation with the Mayor's Advisory Panel on Poverty, was received.

 

12.

Independent Living Centre London and Area - Access Guide

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the Independent Living Centre London and Area Access Guide, a guide detailing the accessibility of various locations throughout the City of London:

 

a)     it BE NOTED that the Accessibility Advisory Committee (ACCAC) were encouraged to follow-up directly with the Independent Living Centre if they wish to volunteer in the updating of the Guide, with periodic updates to the ACCAC;

 

b)     the Independent Living Centre BE ENCOURAGED to consider involving a professional accessible consultant during this process; and

 

c)     it BE NOTED that a communication from R. Westelaken, Program Coordinator, Independent Living Centre London and Area, with respect to this matter, was received.

ACCAC 2016 Work Plan

 

That the revised attached 2016 Work Plan for the Accessibility Advisory Committee BE FORWARDED to the Municipal Council for consideration.
