COMMITTEE ON THE ENVIRONMENT
meeting held on April
6, 2016, commencing at 12:20 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London
City Hall.

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary
interests were disclosed.

That it BE NOTED that a verbal
update from M. Elmadhoon, Traffic Planning Engineer, with respect to the
Downtown Parking Study, was received; it being noted that this matter relates
to item #10 "layered parking" on the Advisory Committee on the
Environment approved 2016 Work Plan.

|
That it BE NOTED that the 2nd, 3rd
and 4th Reports of the Advisory Committee on the Environment from its
meetings held on January 6, February 3, and March 2, 2016, respectively, were
received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the 2nd and
3rd Reports of the Transportation Advisory Committee from its meetings held
on February 2 and March 1, 2016, respectively, were received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the 3rd and
4th Reports of the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee
from its meetings held on February 18 and March 17, 2016, respectively, were
received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the 3rd Report
of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee from its meeting held on February
17, 2016, was received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED a communication
dated February 24, 2016, with respect to the Advisory Committee on the
Environment (ACE) comments, presented by M. Bloxam to the Strategic Priorities
and Policy Committee, related to the Multi-Year 2016-2019 Budget on
Environmental matters, was received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Municipal
Council resolution from its session held on March 1, 2016, with respect to
the 3rd Report of the Advisory Committee on the Environment from its meeting
held on February 3, 2016, was received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the
communication dated February 25, 2016, from J. Baxter, with respect to his
resignation from the Advisory Committee on the Environment, was received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Education
and Outreach Sub-Committee minutes, including a sub-committee report
template, from its meeting held on February 17, 2016, were received.
|
|
That the following actions be taken with
respect to the Built Environment Sub-Committee Report:
a) it
BE NOTED that the revised communication dated February 26, 2016, with
respect to the Springbank Dam, presented by the Advisory Committee on the
Environment Chair, at the Civic Works Committee meeting to be held on March
8, 2016, was received; and,
b) it BE
NOTED that the Built Environment Sub-Committee minutes from its meeting
held on February 16, 2016, were received.

That it BE NOTED that the Energy
Sub-Committee minutes from its meeting held on February 26, 2016, were
received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Waste
Sub-Committee minutes from its meeting held on March 21, 2016, were received.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Advisory
Committee on the Environment held a general discussion with respect to its potential
involvement with the annual London Clean and Green initiative.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Advisory
Committee on the Environment (ACE) held a general discussion with respect to
purchasing t-shirts for the ACE Members.
|
|
That the Urban Agriculture Symposium
tentatively planned for the Spring 2016, BE POSTPONED to the Fall
2016; it being noted that this matter relates to item #17 on the Advisory
Committee on the Environment approved 2016 Work Plan.
|
|
That the matter of the Advisory Committee
on the Environment (ACE) Library BE REFERRED to the Education and
Outreach Sub-Committee to review and report back at a future meeting of the
ACE.
|
|
That the matter of a “pollinator paradise” BE
REFERRED to the Natural Environment Sub-Committee to review.
|
|
That it BE NOTED that the Advisory
Committee on the Environment will attend a tour of the Storm Fisher Anaerobic
Digester Facility on May 11, 2016.
|
|
That the following actions be taken with
respect to the Advisory Committee on the Environment (ACE) 2016 Work Plan:
a) it
BE NOTED that the ACE reviewed and updated its 2016 Work Plan and
asked that it be brought forward quarterly for updates;
b) the ACE
annual budget allocation BE PLACED on its agenda monthly; and,
c) the 2016
Work Plan template column "Budget" BE AMENDED to reflect
both proposed and actual expenditures.

(ADDED) 2016 Provincial Environment
Advisory Committee Symposium
|
|
That it BE NOTED the attached
communication with respect to the 2016 Provincial Environment Advisory
Committee Symposium to be held on May 14, 2016 in Ajax, Ontario, was
received; it being noted the ACE approved the expenditure of up to $100.00
for interested ACE Members to attend the above-noted Symposium; and it being
further noted that the ACE has sufficient funds in its 2016 Budget allotment
for this expense.
