CYCLING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

meeting held on December 14, 2016, commencing at 4:10 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall. 

 

PRESENT:  D. Mitchell (Chair), J. Jordan, H. Ketelaars, W. Pol, G. Sinclair, D. Szoller and M. Zunti and J. Martin (Secretary).

 

ALSO PRESENT:  C. Forsythe, A. Macpherson, D. MacRae, B. McCall, J. Stanford and Sergeant G. Strang.

CALL TO ORDER

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS

Election of Chair and Vice-Chair for the term ending November 30, 2017

 

That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory Committee elected D. Mitchell and H. Ketelaars as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for the term ending November 30, 2017.

3.

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Province-Wide Cycling Network Study

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication dated December 6, 2016 from D. MacRae, Division Manager, Transportation, Planning and Design, with respect to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Province-Wide Cycling Network Study, was received; it being understood that the Civic Administration will report back to the Cycling Advisory Committee at the January 18, 2017 meeting regarding a request for a regional off road cycling system to connect London and St. Thomas to be included in the route alignment.

 

4.

Queens Avenue and Colborne Street Cycle Track Scoping

 

That the Municipal Council BE ADVISED that the Cycling Advisory Committee (CAC) supports and endorses the Queens Avenue and Colborne Street Cycle Track Scoping as presented; it being noted that the CAC received the attached presentation from D. MacRae, Division Manager, Transportation, Planning and Design with respect to this matter.

11th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 11th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee, from its meeting held November 16, 2016, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - Appointment of Carlie Forsythe to the Cycling Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution, from its session held on November 8, 2016, with respect to the appointment of Carlie Forsythe to the Cycling Advisory Committee, was received.

Adelaide Street/Canadian  Pacific Railway Grade Separation Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study Public Information Centre #2/Workshop

 

That it BE NOTED that the Notice from A. Spahiu, Transportation Design Engineer, with respect to the Adelaide Street/Canadian Pacific Railway Grade Separation Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study Public Information Centre #2/Workshop, was received.

 

8.

Notice of Application - York Developments - 1310 Adelaide Street North and 795 Windermere Road

 

That it BE NOTED that the Notice dated November 9, 2016, from B. Debbert, Planner, with respect to application submitted by York Developments relating to the property located at 1310 Adelaide Street North and 795 Windermere Road, was received.

Cycling Advisory Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory Committee received a verbal update and held a general discussion with respect to the sub-committee project status.

2017 Home Show

 

That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory Committee held a general discussion with respect to attending the 2017 Home Show; it being noted that D. Szoller will report back at the January meeting with respect to this matter.

 

11.

2017 Cycling Advisory Committee Work Plan

 

That the Cycling Advisory Committee referred discussion on its 2017 Work Plan to the Cycling Advisory Sub-Committee for review and report back.
