Director of Land Use Planning & City Planner - Tender 12-07 Springbank Skate Park

 

Recommendation:  That on the recommendation of the Director of Planning:

 

1.         The tender submitted by Patterned Concrete Ontario, 249 Supertest Road, Toronto, ON  M30 2M4 at their contract price of $143,147.17 (HST extra ) BE ACCEPTED, it being noted that Patterned Concrete Ontario submitted the lowest bid and meets the City’s terms and conditions;

 

2.         That the funding for this project BE APPROVED as set out in the Source of Financing Report attached hereto as Appendix “A”.

 

3          Civic Administration BE AUTHORIZED to undertake all the administrative acts that are necessary in connection with this purchase, and

 

4.         Approval hereby given BE CONDITIONAL upon the Corporation entering into a formal contract or having a purchase order, or contract record relating to the subject matter of this approval.

Director, Social and Community Support Services - Employment Ontario Announcement to End Funding For Employment Resource Centres

 

Recommendation:  That, on the recommendation of the Director of Social and Community Support Services with the concurrence of the Executive Director of Community Services, the following report BE RECEIVED for information purposes.

6.

Director of Parks & Recreation - Annual Review 2012 Special Events Policies and Procedures Manual

 

Recommendation:  That, on the recommendation of the Director of Parks and Recreation with the concurrence of the Executive Director of Community Services, the following actions BE TAKEN with respect to the 2012 Special Events Policies and Procedures Manual:

 

a)         The administrative changes that have been incorporated into the 2012 Manual, identified  in Appendix A BE NOTED;

b)         The introduction of a one year pilot project to allow Special Event Operators to include LLBO-approved refreshment areas for events in Victoria Park BE APPROVED, it being further noted this project and associated procedures have been included in the 2012 Manual;

c)         The attached By-law (Appendix B) BE INTRODUCED at the Municipal Council meeting of February 21, 2012, TO APPROVE the 2012 Special Events Policies and Procedures Manual (attached as Schedule “B1” to the by-law)

City Clerk - 1st Report of the Child Care Advisory Committee

 

Recommendation:  That the matter of current child care issues BE PLACED on the next Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee (SPPC) agenda with the local Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario; it being noted that the Childcare Advisory Committee (CCAC) specifically noted the following issues for discussion:

 

(a)        barriers to childcare;

 

(b)        healthy child development;

 

(c)        economic impacts; and,

 

(d)        high-quality licensed childcare.
