ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

meeting held on January 26, 2017, commencing at 12:15 PM, in Committee Room #5, Second Floor, London City Hall. 

 

PRESENT:   L. Norman (Chair), I. Bielaska-Hornblower, B. Hall, M. Melling, M. Sherritt, B. Spearman and L. Steel and H. Lysynski (Secretary). 

 

ABSENT:  P. Arcese, J. Bennett, S. Davis, D. Judson and B. Rankin.

CALL TO ORDER

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

Election of Chair and Vice-Chair for the term Ending November 30, 2017

 

That it BE NOTED that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee elected L. Norman and L. Steel as Chair and Vice Chair, respectively, for the term ending November 30, 2017.

3.

Block Walk

 

That a Steering Committee BE ESTABLISHED to facilitate the re-establish the “Block Walk Program” that was part of the former London Block Parent Program;

 

it being noted that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee received the attached presentation from G. McMahon, with respect to this matter.

 

4.

Environmental Assessment at the Intersection of Western Road and Sarnia Road/Philip Aziz Avenue

 

That it BE NOTED that the delegation from D. MacRae, Division Manager, Transportation Planning and Design, with respect to the Environmental Assessment at the intersection of Western Road and Sarnia Road/Philip Aziz Avenue was postponed to the next Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee meeting.

7th Report of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the 7th Report of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee from its meeting held on November 24, 2016 was postponed to the next Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee meeting.

 

6.

Municipal Council Resolution - Terms of Reference

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held on December 19, 2016, with respect to the Terms of Reference for the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee was postponed to the next Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.

Community Safety Week

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of Community Safety Week and the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee Safety Week 2017 Planning Committee meeting report was postponed to the next meeting of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.

Fire Statistics

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the Fire Statistics was postponed to the next meeting of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.

 

9.

Neighbourhood Watch London Statistics

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the Neighbourhood Watch London Statistics was postponed until the next Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee meeting.

 

10.

CSCP 2016 Work Plan

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the 2016 Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee Work Plan was postponed to the next meeting of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee.

 

11.

Oakridge Acres Construction Project

 

That it BE NOTED that consideration of the Oakridge Acres construction project was postponed until the next meeting of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee meeting.

NOTE:       The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee lost quorum and was unable to deal with a majority of the Agenda items.
