CYCLING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

meeting held on May 20, 2015, commencing at 5:11 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

CALL TO ORDER

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS

Orientation - Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) - Integrated Accessibility Standards

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Integrated Accessibility Standards orientation was received.

Bike (Cycling) Program Update

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory Committee received the following with respect to the Bike (Cycling) Program Update:

 

a)            a Municipal Council resolution from its meeting held on April 29, 2015;

 

b)            a staff report dated April 20, 2015;

 

c)            the attached Bike (Cycling) program update from J. Stanford, Director, Environment, Fleet and Solid Waste; and,

 

d)            the attached presentation from H. Ketelars, Cycling Advisory Committee.

5th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that the 5th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on April 15, 2015 was received.

 

5.

Regional Rideshare Program Update

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that a Municipal Council resolution from its meeting held on April 29, 2015, and a staff report dated April 20, 2015, from J. Stanford, Director, Environment, Fleet and Solid Waste, with respect to the regional rideshare program, were received.

Representative from the Advisory Committee on the Environment

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that a communication dated April 29, 2015, from B. Mercier, with respect to the Advisory Committee to the Environment representative appointment to the Cycling Advisory Committee was received.

Representative from the Transportation Advisory Committee

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that a communication dated April 29, 2015, from B. Mercier, with respect to the Transportation Advisory Committee representative appointment to the Cycling Advisory Committee was received.

 

8.

City of London - Highbury Avenue and Hamilton Road Intersection Improvements - Environmental Assessment Study

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that a communication dated April 27, 2015, from K. Welker, Project Manager, Dillon Consulting, with respect to the Highbury Avenue and Hamilton Road Intersection Improvements Environmental Assessment study, was received.

165 Elmwood Avenue East

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that the Notice dated April 29, 2015, from B. Debbert, Senior Planner, with respect to an application submitted by the City of London, relating to the property located at 165 Elmwood Avenue East, was received.

696, 698, 690 and 700 King Street, 372 Lyle Street and 701 and 729 Dundas Street

 

Recommendation:  That it BE NOTED that the Notice dated April 29, 2015, from M. Corby, Planner, with respect to an application submitted by East Village Investment Limited (Medallion Corporation), relating to the properties located at 696, 698, 690 and 700 King Street, 372 Lyle Street and 701 and 729 Dundas Street, was received.

356 Dundas Street

 

Recommendation:  That the Civic Administration BE ADVISED that the Cycling Advisory Committee does not support the proposed provision to provide relief from the bicycle parking requirements for the proposed development with respect to the application of Pamela Karasy, relating to the property located at 356 Dundas Street.

 

V.

SUB-COMMITTEES & WORKING GROUPS

 

12.

Cycling Projects Sub-Committee

 

Recommendation:  That the following actions be taken with respect to the Cycling Projects Sub-Committee:

 

a)            consideration of the Urban Design and GIS and Downtown Design Manual comments BE DEFERRED to a future meeting of the Cycling Advisory Committee;

 

b)            the Civic Administration BE REQUESTED to consider the maps and comments submitted for the London ON Bikes, Cycling Master Plan; and,

 

c)            M. Zunti BE APPOINTED as the Cycling Advisiory Committee representative to the Technical Agency Committee for the Cycling Master Plan;

 

it being noted that the Cycling Projects Sub-Committee will meet on the first Wednesday of each month, at 5:00 p.m.
