meeting held on March 3, 2016, commencing at 5:07 PM, in Committee Room #3, Second Floor, London City Hall.

That it BE NOTED that the 3rd Report of the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on February 4, 2016, was received.

Wild-Life Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC) received a verbal update from W. Brown, on behalf of the AWAC Wildlife Sub-Committee.

Companion Animals Sub-Committee

 

None.

 

V.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

5.

2016 Animal Welfare Advisory Committee Workplan

 

That Civic Administration BE INVITED to a future meeting of the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC) to review the AWAC workplan to provide additional information and support; it being noted the subcommittees will review and will update itemized staff resource allocations where possible.

 

6.

Outdoor Lighting Ordinances

 

That the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee (EEPAC) and the Advisory Committee on the Environment (ACE) BE INVITED to a future meeting of the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC) to provide information related to the recommendation with respect to outdoor lighting ordinances; it being noted that the AWAC have discussed working with EEPAC and ACE to discuss design and construction guidelines to reduce bird strikes,  Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP);  it being further noted that the communication dated February 29, 2016, from B. Mercier, Committee Secretary Advisory Committee on the Environment, with respect to this matter, was received.

DEFERRED MATTERS/ADDITIONAL BUSINESS

 

 

7.

(Added) Companion Animals on Buses

 

 

That the London Transit Commission (LTC) BE REQUESTED to provide a presentation or information to the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee with respect to allowing companion animals on LTC.
