CYCLING
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
meeting held on April
19, 2017, commencing at 4:06 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London
City Hall.
PRESENT: D. Mitchell (Chair), D. Doroshenko,
J. Jordan, H. Ketelaars, W. Pol, D. Szoller and M. Zunti and J. Martin
(Secretary).
ALSO PRESENT: J. Bruin, C.
Forsythe, D. MacRae, B. McCall and G. Stang.
That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary
interests were disclosed.

That it BE NOTED that the 4th Report of the
Cycling Advisory Committee, from its meeting held March 15, 2017, was
received.
|
That it BE NOTED that the attached Notice
dated March 14, 2017, from S. Keen, Project Manager, CIMA, with respect to
the Commissioners Road Realignment Class EA Study Public Information Centre,
was received.

That it BE NOTED that a Notice from A.
Spahiu, Project Manager, City of London and T. Fediw, Project Manager, AECOM
Canada Ltd, with respect to the Kiwanis Park Recreational Pathway Connection
over CNR - Trafalgar Street to East of Laurentian Drive Public Information
Centre, was received.

That it BE NOTED that W. Pol provided an
update advising the Cycling Advisory Committee that the plans with respect to
the Canada 150 Bike Tour London are progressing; it being noted that a
presentation from Fanshawe College students assisting with the preparation with
respect to this matter will be provided at the May meeting.

That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory
Committee (CAC) held a general discussion and referred the matter of
reviewing and submitting comments on the Draft Province-wide Cycling Network
to the Environmental Registry to a working group; it being noted that a
verbal update from D. MacRae, Division Manager, Transportation Planning and
Design and a communication dated April 13, 2017, from D. Soshycki,
Sustainable and Innovative Transportation Office, Ministry of Transportation
with respect to the Trans Canada Trail and the Province-Wide Network of
Cycling Routes in Ontario, was received.

That the Municipal Council, in collaboration
with the Cycling Advisory Committee, BE REQUESTED to consider providing its
support, in principle, to the Federal Active Transportation Strategy; it being
noted that a communication dated April 13, 2017, from J. Varga-Toth, Canada
Bikes, J. Hilland, the National Active and Safe Routes to School Working
Group and C. Maynes, Canada Walks (Green Communities Canada) was received
with respect to this matter.

That it BE NOTED that a communication with
respect to the Gathering on the Green to be held on June 3, 2017, was
received.

That the attached
2017 Cycling Advisory Committee Work Plan BE FORWARDED to the Municipal
Council for consideration.

That it BE NOTED
that the 2016 Cycling Advisory Committee (CAC) Work Plan Summary be referred
to the chair for completion and submission was deferred until the next
meeting of the CAC.
