TREES AND FORESTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

meeting held on September 27, 2017, commencing at 12:18 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall. 

 

PRESENT:  N. St. Amour (Acting Chair), T. Khan, J. Kogelheide, C. Linton, G. Mitchell and R. Walker and J. Martin (Secretary).

 

ABSENT:  C. Haindle and R. Mannella.

CALL TO ORDER

 

1.

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

That it BE NOTED that R. Walker disclosed a pecuniary interest in clause 6 of this Report, having to do with a request for funding by the Advisory Committee on the Environment for the Resilient Cities Conference November 17 and 18, 2017, by indicating that will be a presenter at the conference.

That it BE NOTED that a verbal presentation from J. Spence, Manager Urban Forestry, with respect to National Tree Day, September 27, 2017, was received.

9th Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 9th Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on August 30, 2017, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - 8th Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held September 5, 2017, with respect to the 8th Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee, was received.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

5.

Request for Representation for the Municipal Advisory Group - Rapid Transit

 

              That it BE NOTED that the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee approved C. Linton as its representative, and T. Khan as the alternate representative, to the Municipal Advisory Group – Rapid Transit.

 

6.

Resilient Cities Conference November 17 & 18, 2017

 

              That it BE NOTED that the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee (TFAC) approved expenditures of up to $250.00 to be provided to the Advisory Committee on the Environment to support the Resilient Cities Conference to be held November 17 & 18, 2017 noting that the Green Infrastructure and the Agroforestry topics are within the scope of the TFAC mandate; it being noted that the TFAC has sufficient funds in its 2017 budget for these expenditures.
