Southwest Community Centre Design

 

That the MJMA A+Link BE REQUESTED to present the final plans for the Southwest Community Centre to the Built and Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee, for consideration; it being noted that the Accessibility Advisory Committee received the attached presentation from A. Letkl and E. van der Maarel, MJMA A+Link, with respect to this matter.

4th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 4th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee from its meeting held on April 23, 2015, was received.

 

4.

Appointment to the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held April 14, 2015, with respect to the appointment of Ashfaq Hussain to the Accessibility Advisory Committee, as a Non-Voting Member for the term ending February 28, 2019, was received.

Appointment to the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held September 1, 2015, with respect to the appointment of Jennifer N. Ehiwario, Michael Cairns and Larry Firby to the Accessibility Advisory Committee, as Voting Members for the term ending February 28, 2019, was received.

Letter of Resignation - D. Thomas

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from D. Thomas, with respect to his resignation from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, was received.

 

7.

Letter of Resignation - M. Mavrikkou

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from M. Mavrikkou, with respect to her resignation from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, was received.

 

8.

Letter of Resignation - R. Campbell

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from R. Campbell, with respect to his resignation from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, was received.

Accessibility Champion Award.

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from A. Spencer, Director, Outreach and Strategic Initiatives Branch, Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, with respect to the Accessibility Champion Award, was received.

Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee Report from its meeting held on May 6, 2015 and the draft Urban Design Manual and Draft Downtown Design Manual comments, dated May 19, 2015, were received.

Education Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Education Sub-Committee Report from its meeting held on May 6, 2015 and an update on the Dundas Street Festival and Wellness Fair events, were received.

Policy and By-law Sub-Committee

 

 

That it BE NOTED that the Accessibility Advisory Committee heard a brief update from M. Dawthorne, with respect to the Policy and By-law Sub-Committee.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

13.

Sub-Committee Structure and Roles

 

That it BE NOTED that the Accessibility Advisory Committee held a general discussion with respect to the Accessibility Advisory Committee Sub-Committee structure and roles.

 

14.

Accessible Playground Survey

 

That the launch of the Accessible Playground Survey BE DEFERRED to the Spring 2016.

 

15.

Community Gardens

 

That the Manager, Community Partnerships and Funding, BE INVITED to the October meeting of the Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee to discuss community gardens.

 

16.

Accessibility Advisory Committee Representative on the Transportation Advisory Committee

 

That L. Firby BE APPOINTED as the Accessibility Advisory Committee representative on the Transportation Advisory Committee.

 

17.

2016 Mayor's New Year's Honour List - Nominations Requested

 

That it BE NOTED that the Accessibility Advisory Committee (ACCAC) reviewed and received a communication dated August 5, 2015, from the City Clerk, with respect to the 2016 Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List (MNYHL).  The ACCAC were encouraged to submit nominations for the MNYHL for consideration.
