meeting held on May 18, 2017, commencing at 5:03 PM, in Committee Rooms #1 and #2, Second Floor, London City Hall.

Cats and Birds Pamphlet

 

That it BE NOTED that the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee heard a verbal presentation from R. Andrusevich, Manager II, Communications, with respect to the proposed Cats and Birds pamphlet; it being noted that R. Andrusevich will discuss the possibility of providing the brochure to individuals when they apply for/obtain their cat license.

4th Report of the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 4th Report of the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on April 20, 2017, was received.

 

4.

Community Open House - Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA Conservation Master Plan

 

That it BE NOTED that the following actions be taken with respect to the Community Open House for the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA (south) Conservation Master Plan:

 

a)            the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee (EEPAC) heard verbal updates from S. Hall and K. Moser, with respect to the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA (south) Conservation Master Plan; and,

 

b)            it BE NOTED that the EEPAC reviewed and received a communication from L. McDougall, Ecologist Planner, with respect to the Community Open House for the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA (south) Conservation Master Plan; it being noted that all Members are encouraged to attend the public meeting.

 

5.

Loosestrife Beetle Release

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from L. McDougall, Ecologist Planner, with respect to the Loosestrife Beetle Release, was received.

SUB-COMMITTEES & WORKING GROUPS

 

6.

Working Group Comments on Revised Eagle Ridge EIS

 

That the attached Working Group comments dated April 25, 2017, related to the Eagle Ridge Phase 2 Environmental Impact Statement, BE FORWARDED to the Civic Administration for consideration

 

V.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

7.

Work Plan

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the 2017 Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee (EEPAC)Work Plan:

 

a)            it BE NOTED that the EEPAC held a general discussion with respect to its 2017 Work Plan, including the potential of using meta-analysis to determine if constructed wetlands successfully replicate habitat for flora and fauna, as well as the fact that the EEPAC rarely gets reports on how applicants have fulfilled conditions of development related to natural heritage; and,

 

b)            the Civic Administration BE REQUESTED to attend a future meeting of the EEPAC to provide information with respect to:

 

i)              the reconstructed wetland located at 905 Sarnia Road; and,

ii)         the potential for the EEPAC to have a site visit to the reconstructed wetland located at 905 Sarnia Road.

Medway Valley ESA Trail Planning LAC

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA Trail Planning Local Advisory Committee:

 

a)            it BE NOTED that the Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee (EEPAC) heard verbal updates from S. Hall and K. Moser, with respect to the activities of the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA Trail Planning Local Advisory Committee; and,

 

b)            K. Moser and S. Hall, BE REQUESTED to provide an update on the Medway Valley Heritage Forest ESA Trail Planning Local Advisory Committee activities at the next EEPAC meeting.

DEFERRED MATTERS/ADDITIONAL BUSINESS

 

9.

(ADDED)  Properties located at 1738, 1742, 1752 and 1756 Hamilton Road

 

That a Working Group, consisting of S. Levin (lead), A. Regehr and I. Whiteside, BE ESTABLISHED to review the application by Thames Village Joint Venture Corporation, relating to the properties located at 1738, 1742, 1752 and 1756 Hamilton Road and to report back at the next Environmental and Ecological Planning Advisory Committee meeting; it being noted that the EEPAC reviewed and received a Notice dated May 17, 2017, from L. Mottram, Senior Planner, with respect to this matter.
