meeting held on November 19, 2015, commencing at 12:15 PM, in Committee Room #3, Second Floor, London City Hall.

Amendments to the Terms of Reference for the City of London Advisory Committees

 

That it BE NOTED that a Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held on June 10, 2015, was received; it being noted that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee is undertaking its 2016 Work Plan.

 

3.

Orientation - Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) - Integrated Accessibility Standards

 

That it BE NOTED that the orientation on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Integrated Accessibility Standards was received.

That it BE NOTED that the 4th, 5th and 6th Reports of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee, from its meetings held on September 24, 2015, November 3, 2015 and November 6, 2015, respectively, were received.

Appointment of Muriel Abbott to Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee

 

That, it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held on October 13, 2015 with respect to the appointment of M. Abbott to the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee, was received.

4th Report of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee

 

That, it BE NOTED the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held on October 27, 2015, relating to the 4th Report of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee, was received.

7.

2015 Activity Summary

 

That, in accordance with the London Advisory Committee Terms of Reference for all Advisory Committees, the attached summary of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee (CSCP) 2015 activity summary BE RECEIVED; it being noted that the CSCP met seven times in the year.

 

8.

London Block Parent Program

 

That it BE NOTED that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee heard a verbal update from B. Spearman, Board of Directors, London Block Parent® Program, with respect to the recent activities undertaken by the organization.

 

9.

June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism in Ontario

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication dated October, 2015 from M. Chan, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade with respect to the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism in Ontario, was received; it being further noted that Members were encouraged to submit nominations from their respective organizations.

 

10.

London Strengthening Neighbourhood Strategy 5 Year Celebration

 

That it BE NOTED that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee heard a verbal presentation from J. Walter, Manager 1 - Community Development and received the attached communication with respect to the London Strengthening Neighbourhood Strategy Five-Year Celebration.

DEFERRED MATTERS/ADDITIONAL BUSINESS

 

11.

(ADDED) Fire Department Statistics

 

That it BE NOTED that the attached Fire Department Statistics, as provided by D. Lebold, London Fire Services, were received.

 

12.

(ADDED) London Police Department

 

That a representative from the London Police Department BE REQUESTED to attend the next meeting of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee to provide updates on school safety issues and vandalism.

 

13.

(ADDED) Children’s Safety Village Update

 

That it BE NOTED that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee heard a verbal presentation from L. Steel, Traffic Safety Education Committee, Children’s Safety Village, with respect to the activities undertaken by the organization.

 

14.

(ADDED) Sparks! Neighbourhood Matching Fund

 

That it BE NOTED that the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Advisory Committee heard a verbal presentation from J. Walter, Manager 1 - Community Development, with respect to the Sparks! Neighbourhood Matching Fund.
