That it BE NOTED that the meeting was opened with an Acknowledgement of Indigenous Lands by R. Hussain.

Introduction of the Managing Director, Corporate Services and Chief Human Resources Officer

 

That it BE NOTED that the Managing Director, Corporate Services and Chief Human Resources Officer, was unable to attend and will be scheduled for a future meeting of the Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee.

DELEGATION - J. Turner - Emancipation Day Celebration

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication and a verbal presentation from J. Turner, Organizer, Emancipation Day, with respect to Emancipation Day Celebrations to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Westminster Ponds, was received.

Education and Awareness Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal update from L. Osbourne on behalf of the Education and Awareness Sub-Committee, was received.

Policy and Planning Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that no update from the Policy and Planning Sub-Committee was presented.

Awards and Recognition Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the minutes of the Awards and Recognition Sub-Committee from its meeting held on August 10, 2017, was received.

8th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 8th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on July 20, 2017, was received.

 

10.

Resilient Cities Conference - November 17 and 18, 2017

 

              That a representative from the Advisory Committee on the Environment BE REQUESTED to make a presentation with respect to the Resilient Cities Conference at the next meeting of the Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee (DIAAC); it being noted that the DIAAC deferred consideration of the request for financial support for the event to the next meeting.

Municipal Council Resolution - 8th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held August 22, 2017 with respect to the 8th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - 7th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held July 25, 2017 with respect to the 7th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee, was received.

Resignation - Lina Hernandez

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication dated August 28, 2017, from L. Hernandez with respect to her resignation from the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee, was received.

2017 Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee Workplan

 

That it BE NOTED that 2017 Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee work plan was referred to the sub-committee chairs and the Committee Secretary to review, coordinate and report back at the next meeting.

DEFERRED MATTERS/ADDITIONAL BUSINESS

 

15.

(ADDED) Invitation to Community Partner - London Police Service Community Consultation Process

 

That the request of the London Police Service (LPS) dated September 5, 2017, with respect to community consultation toward the development of the LPS Business Plan BE REFERRED to the Policy and Planning Sub-committee for the development of draft comments for the Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee (DIAAC) review.

 

16.

(ADDED) Request for Representative for the Municipal Advisory Group – Transit Project Assessment Process

 

That it BE NOTED that K. Hussain was appointed as the representative to the Transit Project Assessment Process - Municipal Advisory Group representing the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Advisory Committee.
