meeting to be held on August 25, 2016, commencing at 3:04 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

CALL TO ORDER

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

SCHEDULED ITEMS

 

2.

Focus Group Age-Friendliness London

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication and a verbal presentation from Michelle Dellamora, Supervisor, Age Friendly London, with respect to a focus group on age-friendliness in London, was received; it being noted that the members of the Accessibility Advisory Committee are encouraged to participate in the Ace Friendly Forum to be held October 20, 2016 and the public consultations with respect to this matter.

East Community Centre

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication dated August 25, 2016 and a verbal presentation from Jeremy Campbell, Maclennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects, with respect to the East Community Centre, was received.

Built Environment and Facilities Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the report of the Built Environments and Facilities Sub-Committee from its meeting held on August 2, 2016, was received.

 

5.

Mental Health Working Group

 

That it BE NOTED that the report of the Mental Health Working Group from its meeting held on August 8, 2016, was received.

Policy Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the report of the Policy Sub-Committee from its meeting held on August 2, 2016, was received.

Education and Awareness Sub-Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the reports of the Education and Awareness Sub-Committee from its meetings held on August 2, 2016 and August 8, 2016, respectively, were received.

Attendance at Sub-Committee Meetings

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication with respect to upcoming sub-committee meeting dates, was received; it being noted that the Accessibility Advisory Committee members are encouraged to attend sub-committee meetings.

 

IV.

CONSENT ITEMS

 

9.

7th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED the 7th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee from its meeting held on July 28, 2016 was received; it being further noted that clause 11 of the 7th Report will be amended to reflect accessible parking.

 

10.

Municipal Council Resolution - Child Minding Services

 

That the Municipal Council BE REQUESTED to consider the ability to support children with special needs and disabilities when considering the selection of the service provider/delivery of service; it being noted that the Accessibility Advisory Committee (ACCAC) supports child minding at Public Participation Meetings of Municipal Council Standing Committees and the need for the provision of child minding services at Advisory Committee meetings, as this initiative would help to remove a barrier for interested individuals who may not otherwise be able to participate due to lack of available childcare.

Municipal Council Resolution - 6th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its meeting held on July 26, 2016 with respect to the 6th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee, was received.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

12.

ACCAC Workplan Review

 

That it BE NOTED that the Accessibility Advisory Committee reviewed and updated the attached 2016 Work Plan.

 

13.

Mayor's New Year’s Honour’s Nominations

 

That it BE NOTED that the members of the Accessibility Advisory Committee were encouraged to submit nominations to its Committee Secretary by September 13, 2016.

 

14.

Trails Advisory Group - Westminster Ponds/Pond Mills Environmentally Significant Area

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication from the Trails Advisory Group with respect to the Westminster Ponds/Pond Mills Environmentally Significant Area community meeting was received; it being noted that all members of the Accessibility Advisory Committee are invited; it being further noted that J. Sanders will attend the meeting on behalf of the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
