2ND REPORT OF THE
LONDON
ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON HERITAGE
meeting held on January
13, 2016, commencing at 5:30 PM, in Committee Room #3, Second Floor, London
City Hall.
PRESENT: D. Dudek (Chair), D. Brock, J.
Cushing, H. Elmslie, H. Garrett, S. Gibson, T. Jenkins, W. Kinghorn, J.
Manness, J. Peters, K. Waud and M. Whalley and B. Mercier (Secretary).
ABSENT: S. Adamsson.
ALSO PRESENT: J. Dent, K. Gonyou,
M. Hamilton, D. Menard and D. Schiks.
That it BE NOTED that W. Kinghorn
disclosed a pecuniary interest in clause 12 of this Report, having to do with
the property located at 21 Wharncliffe Road South (Museum London), by
indicating that he is on the Board for the Museum London.

That it BE NOTED that a delegation
from F. Arbi, LexLegal Services, representing the property owner, with
respect to the property located at 187 Wharncliffe Road South and its current
condition, was received; it being noted that an informal discussion with
respect to this matter occurred.

That it BE NOTED that a delegation
from B. McDonald, Property Owner, with respect to the property located at 72
Byron Avenue East and its current condition, was received; it being noted
that an informal discussion with respect to this matter occurred.

That it BE NOTED that the 1st Report
of the London Advisory Committee on Heritage from its meeting held on
December 9, 2015, was received.
|
That it BE NOTED that the Municipal
Council resolution adopted at its session held on December 8, 2015, with
respect to the 13th Report of the London Advisory Committee on Heritage from
its meeting held on November 11, 2015, was received.

That it BE NOTED that the Historic
Sites Committee minutes from its meeting held on October 7, 2015, were
received.

That it BE NOTED that the Notice
dated December 23, 2015, from M. Corby, Planner, with respect to an
application submitted by 1016790 Ontario Ltd. relating to the property
located at 455 Clarence Street, was received.

9th Annual London
Heritage Awards
|
That it BE NOTED that a
communication from the Architectural Conservancy Ontario, London Region and
the Heritage London Foundation, with respect to the 9th Annual London
Heritage Awards, to be held on February 18, 2016, was received.

That it BE NOTED that the London
Advisory Committee on Heritage was advised that the next Education
Sub-Committee meeting will be held on January 19, 2016; it being noted that
London Heritage Council, Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and Urban
League will be invited to this meeting to discuss potential collaboration on
future projects in 2016.

That, on the
recommendation of the Managing Director, Planning and City Planner, with the
advice of the Heritage Planner, with respect to the designation of the King
Street Bridge, a notice under the provisions of subsection 29(3) of the Ontario
Heritage Act, R.S.P. 1990, c. O. 18, of Municipal Council’s intention to
designate the King Street Bridge to be of cultural heritage value or interest
BE GIVEN for the attached reasons.

That the attached 2016 Work Plan for
the London Advisory Committee on Heritage BE FORWARDED to the
Municipal Council for consideration.
|
That the following actions be taken with
respect to the Heritage Planner's Report:
a) the
request for designation related to the property located at 864-872 Dundas
Street (LIFE*SPIN) BE FORWARDED to the Stewardship Sub-Committee for
consideration;
b) the request
for designation related to the property located at 21 Wharncliffe Road South
(Children's Museum) BE FORWARDED to the Stewardship Sub-Committee for
consideration; and,
c) it
BE NOTED that the attached submissions from K. Gonyou,
Heritage Planner, with respect to the 2016 Heritage Planning Program and
various updates and events, were received.
