meeting held on September 21, 2016, commencing at 4:05 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

ABSENT:  M. Zunti.

CALL TO ORDER

Disclosures of Pecuniary Interest

 

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

2.

8th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 8th Report of the Cycling Advisory Committee, from its meeting held July 20, 2016, was received.

 

3.

Richmond Street Recreational Pathway Crossing Environmental Assessment

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution, from its meeting held on July 26, 2016 and the staff report dated July 18, 2016, from the Managing Director, Environmental and Engineering Services and City Engineer, with respect to the Richmond Street Recreational Pathway Crossing Environmental Assessment, were received.

Municipal Council Resolution - Thames Valley Parkway North Branch Connection Class Environmental Assessment

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution, from its meeting held on July 26, 2016, with respect to Thames Valley Parkway North Branch Connection Class Environmental Assessment, was received.

 

5.

Municipal Council Resolution - Provision of Child Minding Services for the Public at Public Participation Meetings Related to a Standing Committee Meeting

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution, from its meeting held on March 22, 2016 with respect to the provision of child minding services for the public at Public Participation Meetings related to a Standing Committee Meeting, was received; it being noted that the Cycling Advisory Committee does not feel there is a need for this service, at this time, for the Cycling Advisory Committee members.

Notices

 

That it be noted that the Cycling Advisory Committee reviewed the following applications and provided comments as indicated below:

 

a)            the Civic Administration BE ADVISED that the Cycling Advisory Committee (CAC) supports the large number of parking spots being allocated for bicycles in the amendment outlined in the application by Textbook (Ross Park) Inc. relating to the properties located at 1234-1246 Richmond Street;

 

b)            it BE NOTED that the CAC received an application by 2116782 Ontario Inc. with respect to the property located at 607 Wellington Road; and,

 

c)            the Civic Administration BE ADVISED that the CAC opposes the amendment outlined in the application by Old Oak Properties Inc. relating to the property located within the Southwest Area Secondary Plan as it makes an environment that is less conducive to cycling, increases the risk to cyclists and the CAC recommends that underground parking for cyclists be a requirement.

That it BE NOTED that the attached presentation from H. Ketelaars with respect to Bike Fest 2017, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - London ON Bikes Cycling Master Plan

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution, from its meeting held on September 13, 2016 with respect to the London ON Bikes Cycling Master Plan, was received.

 

10.

Letter of Resignation

 

That it BE NOTED that a communication from C. Quirk with respect to her resignation from the Cycling Advisory Committee, was received.

(ADDED) Letter of Resignation

 

That it BE NOTED that the attached communication dated September 21, 2016 from A. Stratton with respect to her resignation from the Cycling Advisory Committee, was received.

 

11.

(ADDED) Not By Accident Conference

 

That it BE NOTED that the Cycling Advisory Committee (CAC) approved expenditures of up to $75.00 for registration fees for D. Szoller to attend the Not By Accident Conference being held Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn; it being noted that the CAC has sufficient funds in its 2016 budget for this expenditure.
