meeting held on October 14, 2015, commencing at 12:25 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS

 

2.

Amendments to the Terms of Reference for the City of London Advisory Committees

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution from its meeting held on June 10, 2015, with respect to amendments to the Terms of Reference for advisory committees to require an annual work plan, was received; it being noted that the London Housing Advisory Committee will develop a list of initiatives for the work plan at their next meeting.

SCHEDULED ITEMS

 

3.

Mayor's Advisory Panel on Poverty

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the Mayor’s Advisory Panel on Poverty (MAPP):

 

a)            a working group of the London Housing Advisory Committee (LHAC) BE FORMED to review and report back to the LHAC at their next meeting to address the following matters, in order to further consult with the MAPP, as requested:

 

i)              a definition of poverty, and how this shapes work in that area;

 

ii)             root causes of poverty and more specifically the drivers of poverty in London; and,

 

iii)            key resources for work on poverty issues;

 

b)            the Mayor’s Advisory Panel on Poverty BE REQUESTED to provide further engagement opportunities to the LHAC; and,

 

c)            it BE NOTED that the attached presentation and verbal update from A. Oudshoorn, MAPP Member, with respect to this matter, was received;

 

it being noted that the LHAC members are encouraged to submit comments with respect to key resources on poverty issues.

That it BE NOTED that the 5th Report of the London Housing Advisory Committee from its meeting held on September 8, 2015, was received.

National Housing Day Forum - Save the Date

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication from the City of London and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation with respect to the National Housing Day Forum being held November 16, 2015, was received.

LSTAR - News Release - Best September Since...EVER!

 

That it BE NOTED that the LSTAR® news release dated October 1, 2015, was received.

7.

Safe Housing Conditions for Vulnerable Persons Working Group

 

That a representative of the Safe Housing Conditions for Vulnerable Persons Working Group BE INVITED to a future meeting of the London Housing Advisory Committee to provide a status update with respect to the safe housing conditions for vulnerable persons; it being noted that the London Housing Advisory Committee received a verbal update from D. Nemeth and held a general discussion with respect to this matter.

C-1      Personal matters pertaining to identifiable individuals, including municipal employees, with respect to the 2015 Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List.
