meeting held on October 22, 2015, commencing at 3:04 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

Municipal Council Resolution - 2016 Advisory Committee Work Plan

 

That it BE NOTED that the Municipal Council resolution adopted at its session held on June 10, 2015, with respect to amendments to the Terms of Reference for advisory committees, to require advisory committees to submit an annual work plan, was received; it being noted that the Accessibility Advisory Committee formed a Working Group to discuss its 2016 Work Plan, with a report back at the next meeting.

Facility Accessibility Design Standards (FADS)

 

That it BE NOTED that the delegation from T. Wellhauser, Division Manager, Facilities and J. Devito, Manager, Facilities Design and Construction, with respect to the Facility Accessibility Design Standards (FADS), was not available at this meeting.

 

4.

London ON Bikes

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal presentation from A. Macpherson, Manager, Environmental Parks Planning and D. MacRae, Division Manager, Transportation Planning and Design, with respect to London ON Bikes, was received.

 

 

 

 

5.

Mayor's Advisory Panel on Poverty

 

That it BE NOTED that the attached presentation from Councillor M. Cassidy, with respect to the Mayor's Advisory Panel on Poverty, was received; it being noted that the Accessibility Advisory Committee referred this matter to its Policy and By-law Sub-committee to review and provide comments at its next meeting, as requested.

5th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 5th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee from its meeting held on September 24, 2015, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - Appointment of J. Higgins

 

That it BE NOTED that a Municipal Council resolution adopted at it session held on October 13, 2015, with respect to the appointment of J. Higgins as a Voting Member on the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the term ending February 28, 2019, was received.

 

8.

June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism in Ontario

 

That it BE NOTED that the communication dated October 2015, from M. Chan, Minister, Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade, with respect to the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism in Ontario, was received.

That it BE NOTED that the Built Environment and Facilities Sub-committee Report from its meeting held on October 7, 2015, was received.

Municipal Council Resolution - 5th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee from its meeting held on May 22, 2014

 

That the Civic Administration BE REQUESTED to report back to the Accessibility Advisory Committee, with respect to the attached Municipal Council resolution, adopted at its session held on June 26, 2014, with respect to the 5th Report of the Accessibility Advisory Committee, relating to eliminating stigmas specific to children’s mental health.

Traffic Signals without Audible Pedestrian Push Buttons

 

That the communication dated September 29, 2015 and the prioritized list of traffic signals without audible pedestrian push buttons, from S. Maguire, Division Manager, Roadway Lighting and Traffic Control, BE REFERRED to the Built Environment and Facilities Sub-committee to review and report back at a future meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Committee.

DEFERRED MATTERS/ADDITIONAL BUSINESS

(ADDED) Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List – Nominating Categories

 

That Appendix 1(4A) of Council Policy Manual, related to the  Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List, BE AMENDED to change the name of the nomination category number 6 from “Persons with Disabilities”, to “Accessibility Champion”.

(ADDED) The Accessibility Advisory Committee convened in camera from 4:20 PM to 4:30 PM after having passed a motion to do so, with respect to the following matter:

A matter pertaining to a personal matter about identifiable individuals including municipal or local board employees, relating to the 2016 Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List.
