meeting held on March 22, 2017, commencing at 12:17 PM, in Committee Room #4, Second Floor, London City Hall.

That it BE NOTED that no pecuniary interests were disclosed.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities - Diverse Voices for Change Initiative

 

That it BE NOTED that the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee (TFAC) received the Federation of Canadian Municipalities – Diverse Voices for Change Initiative survey; it being noted that the TFAC heard a presentation from J. Martin, Committee Secretary, with respect to this matter.

3rd Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee

 

That it BE NOTED that the 3rd Report of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on February 22, 2017, was received.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

 

6.

Draft Planting Strategy

 

That the following actions be taken with respect to the Draft Planting Strategy:

 

a)            the Civic Administration BE REQUESTED to provide a copy of all future documents pertaining to the implementation of the draft tree planting strategy to the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee for review and comment;

 

b)            the Chair or designate of the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee BE DIRECTED to request delegation status at the Planning and Enviornment Committee meeting, when the proposed draft planting strategy is presented; and,

 

c)            it BE NOTED that the Trees and Forests Advisory Committee (TFAC) supports and recommends the adoption of the strategy as presented to TFAC;

it being noted that verbal updates from A. Macpherson, Manager, Environmental and Parks Planning and S. Rowlands, Urban Forestry Planner, with respect to the Draft Planting Strategy, were received.

 

7.

Tree Protection By-law Update

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal update from S. Rowlands, Urban Forestry Planner, with respect to the Tree Protection By-law, was received.

 

8.

Naturalization Area West of Vauxhall Park Update

 

That it BE NOTED that a verbal update from J. Ramsay, Forestry Technologist, with respect to the Naturalization Area West of Vauxhall Park and management of damage from beavers, was received.

 

9.

Rapid Transit Route Queens Avenue and the Impact On Trees

 

That it BE NOTED that the discussion with respect to an update on the impact to trees on the Rapid Transit Route on Queens Avenue, was deferred to the March meeting of the TFAC.

 

10.

2016 Trees and Forests Advisory Committee Work Plan Summary

 

That it BE NOTED that the discussion with respect to the 2016 Trees and Forests Advisory Committee (TFAC) Workplan Summary was deferred to the March meeting of the TFAC.

2017 Trees and Forests Advisory Committee Work Plan

 

That it BE NOTED that the discussion with respect to the 2017 Trees and Forests Advisory Committee (TFAC) Workplan was deferred to the March meeting of the TFAC.
