The City of London is situated on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek (AUh-nish-in-ah-bek), Haudenosaunee (Ho-den-no-show-nee), Lūnaapéewak (Len-ah-pay-wuk) and Attawandaron (Add-a-won-da-run).
We honour and respect the history, languages and culture of the diverse Indigenous people who call this territory home. The City of London is currently home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit today.
As representatives of the people of the City of London, we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and live in this territory.

    The meeting was called to order at 4:01 PM; it being noted that P. Gill, S. Atieh, S. D'Amelio, K-A. Burke, R. Gill, B. Hill, L. Ochoa, N. Syed and C. Kamgne Tagatzi were in remote attendance. 

     

That it BE NOTED that S. D'Amelio discloses a pecuniary interest with respect to Item 6.1 c), having to do with the nomination for the Social/Community Services (including Not-for Profits) (49 or fewer employees/members) category by indicating that they sit on the board of directors for London Afro Centric Association. 

That it BE NOTED that the meeting was opened with an Acknowledgement of Indigenous Lands by P. Gill.

That it BE NOTED that no Traditional Opening was received.

None. 

  • That it BE NOTED that the 8th Report of the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Community Advisory Committee, from its meeting held on September 12, 2024, was received.

  • That the following actions be taken with respect to the 2024 Diversity, Race Relations and Inclusivity Awards (DRRIA): 

    a)     the Needham Funeral Services BE AWARDED the 2024 Diversity, Race Relations and Inclusivity Award, in the Small Business/ Small Labour (49 or fewer employees/members) category; 

    b)     the London Afro Centric Association (LACA) BE AWARDED the 2024 Diversity, Race Relations and Inclusivity Award, in the Social/Community Services (including Not-for Profits) (49 or fewer employees/members) category; 

    c)     the Black Health, London Health Sciences Centre BE AWARDED the 2024 Diversity, Race Relations and Inclusivity Award, in the Social/Community Services (including Not-for Profits) (50 or more employees/members) category

    it being noted that the Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression Community Advisory Committee held a general discussion relating to the nominations.
